One Alabama business hopes they have found a creative way to fill open positions with new employees — they are giving away a new car.

With many jobs available in Chilton County, the Neighborhood Grill, a popular restaurant in Clanton, is looking to hire workers for both locations, and they hope the opportunity for one of its new employees to walk away with a new set of wheels will entice people to come work for them.

The car is a 2020 Hyundai Elantra, according to Neighborhood Grill owner Jason Lea. It’s not a brand-new car as it had approximately 10,000 miles driven on it, but it is in good shape.

The plan is for the car to be given away to a Neighborhood Grill employee in December.

“We are going to give it away … during our company Christmas party,” Lea said.

In order to be eligible for the giveaway, one must apply and be hired by Neighborhood Grill between now and September. There are plenty of positions available at both locations.

“In Clanton, we only need eight or 10 employees to be where we need to be,” Lea said. “But at Millbrook … we may need as many as 20 to 30 new employees.”

To apply, one can go to the website at www.neighborhoodgrillandcatering.com, or one can go to either location and ask for an application.

However, the best way to get hired is to go to either location Tuesday through Friday from 2-4 p.m. and ask for an interview with a manager. If one does that, they can get an open interview on the spot instead of having to wait after applying.

So, if one is interested in a job and a chance at a free car, Neighborhood Grill might be the place to go.
