A man charged with child rape in Tennessee was found dead this week after falling from a hotel window in Alabama.

A man charged with child rape and other offenses in Tennessee died Sunday after falling out of an 11th floor window of an Orange Beach hotel, five days before he was set to appear in court, police said.

Dane Appalsammy, 52, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, was to appear in a Tennessee courtroom in five days to face charges, including rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery and solicitation of a minor – aggravated sexual battery in Rutherford County, Tennesee

Officials say Appalsammy died around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, after falling out of an 11th-floor window of a hotel in Orange Beach.

Appalsammy was reportedly in Orange Beach for a family vacation. He was scheduled to appear in court Friday for a status hearing.
