Alabama man to be charged in December shooting of police officer

An Alabama man will be charged with attempted murder for shooting a police officer two months ag0.

According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, Wilcox County District Court Judge Briana Westry found probable cause to charge Ida Robinson, of Wilcox County, for attempted murder with the shooting of Pine Hill Police Officer Ricky Pugh Jr.

The incident occurred on Dec.4 when Pugh was trying to serve a warrant against Robinson, who’s wanted for attempted murder.

Jackson said Pugh was shot three times, once in the left hand and twice in his right leg. A pinky finger had to get amputated.

The case will be bound over to a Wilcox County grand jury.
