A 29-year-old Alabama man was fatally shot Monday morning in Montgomery.

The Montgomery Police Department reported the shooting death of Keith Spells, 29. The shooting occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

Police responded to reports of a subject shot on Arthur Street. At the scene, police discovered Spells with a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Montgomery officials say no arrests have been made and that the shooting remains under investigation.

Monday’s fatal shooting is the 66th murder of 2020 for the city of Montgomery.
