Authorities have released the name of a man whose burning body was discovered inside a vacant Birmingham building, and an arrest in the case.

Birmingham police Saturday night identified the victim as 34-year-old Maxim Voronetsky, who had been decapitated and set on fire during the killing.

Jason Dwayne Adams, 41, is charged with murder in Voronetsky’s slaying. Both men were transients and had lengthy criminal histories for property and drug crimes.

Voronetsky’s body was found Thursday after office workers spotted smoke coming from a vacant building across the street, al.com reported. Police and firefighters found the body burning inside.

Investigators believe there was some kind of argument before the victim was killed, decapitated and set on fire.
