Officials are still looking for a shoplifting suspect who fired his gun at a store clerk while fleeing the scene.

At approximately 7:10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, Montgomery police officers responded to reports of shots fired on West Fairview Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, a convenience store clerk said an unknown black male wearing all black clothing and a partial mask stole bottle of beer and three glass bongs. The clerk said he grabbed his wooden bat and ran out the store in an attempt to retrieve the merchandise after the shoplifter ran out of the store.

As he was fleeing the scene, the shoplifter reportedly fired one round in the direction of the clerk.

The suspect was captured on convenience store surveillance video putting bottles of beer in his waistband. Video shows the unknown male approaching the front counter of the convenience store and snatching three Glass Bongs valued at $189.00 each before running out the store without purchasing the merchandise.

An officer was able to locate one 9mm spent shell casing and glass particles that appeared to be particles from one of the bongs taken from the store.

The suspect was last seen in a black vehicle fleeing the scene towards South Perry Street. There were no injuries sustained by either the complainant or the unknown male during this incident.
