Man dies in multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 10

A 74-year-old man died after a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 10 in Mobile.

Mobile police say Ronald McHaney was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty with his wife shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and was attempting to enter onto I-10 eastbound from Rangeline Road. Police say McHaney lost control of his vehicle and crossed into traffic, where he was struck by two other vehicles that were traveling eastbound on the interstate.

A 2020 Ford F-450 wrecker truck struck the Jeep. Both of the wreck’s occupants were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The Jeep was then struck by a 2003 Toyota Tundra. The driver was not injured.

McHaney died as a result of his injuries. McHaney’s wife was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
