Police officers investigating discovery of body in burning vehicle

Birmingham police officers are investigating the discovery of a body found inside a burning vehicle in the southwest part of the city.
Officers made the discovery shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of McMillon Avenue, said spokesman Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
West Precinct officers and Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene on a report of a car fire. Once the flames were extinguished, the body was found inside.
Fitzgerald said the death is unclassified at this time. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause and manner of death.
