A 54-year-old man is accused of starting a fire at an Alabama hotel.

Gary Sanders Lamb, of Valley, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of second-degree arson after a fire started at the Oyo Hotel in Opelika, police said.

Opelika police officers and firefighters extinguished the fire, which damaged the hotel’s service desk area, the Opelika-Auburn News reported.

No injuries were reported. Police said their investigation led them to believe that Lamb was suspected of starting the fire but they gave no specifics.

Lamb is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Lee County Jail.​ It was not immediately known if he has an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
