Two Alabama residents were arrested Friday afternoon after police discovered the pair having sex in a car parked in the police department’s parking lot.

Brookside police say personnel in the communications center spotted the pair on a security camera and sent officers outside to investigate.

Police report they found Paula Garner and James Sanders, both of Centerpoint, Alabama, inside the vehicle.

As officers spoke to the pair the officers reported smelling marijuana which prompted them to call in a K9 officer that positively alerted to the presence of drugs.

Ultimately, officers said they found crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and a firearm inside the vehicle.

As it turns out, Garner was scheduled to show up for court-ordered community service on a previous charge and Sanders had given her a ride to the police department before they became distracted with each other.

Both were arrested on several charges including possession of controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and indecent exposure. Sanders was also charged with felon in possession of a firearm.

Police reported that officers just walked the pair inside the Brookside Jail for booking.
