An Alabama teen was arrested and accused of fatally shooting two people at a house party, authorities said.
A 17-year-old male was arrested Wednesday and charged with capital murder in the deaths of Javier Monzon Mendoza and Jason Mendiola, news outlets reported.
Bessemer Police Lt. Christian Clemons said the shooting happened Saturday night at a house gathering. He said a dispute took place and the teen fired several shots.
Mendoza and Mendiola, both 21, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Clemons said a motive for the shooting was still under investigation. The name of the teen has been withheld because of his age.
It’s unclear whether he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
