An Alabama pastor was arrested Wednesday, charged with two counts of second-degree sodomy.

Paster Garyl Jermaine Gibbs, 47, was arrested after a grand jury indictment, Monroe County Sheriff Thomas Boatwright confirmed to news outlets.

Gibbs is the pastor of Call to Life Apostolic Church in Monroeville.

He was being held at the Monroe County Detention Facility on a $75,000 bond.

The charge of second-degree sodomy indicates he is charged with either having sex with someone between the age of 12 and 16 or with someone incapable of consent due to their mental condition.

If found guilty of the class B felony charges he could face:

2 to 20 years in state prison.

Fines of up to $30,000.

Requirement to register as a convicted sex offender.

As in all such criminal cases, however, the suspect is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
