Authorities are searching for an Alabama man they say shot and killed a woman after being robbed by her boyfriend at a Georgia gas station.

Tierre Tyrell Williams, 28, is being sought on charges including murder and aggravated assault in the Sunday night shooting, news outlets report.

Da’Jai Green, 22, and her boyfriend, 21-year-old Deangelo Finley, stopped at a LaGrange gas station that night and got into an argument with Williams, city police say. Finley, of Auburn, Alabama, confronted Williams in the parking lot and snatched a necklace off of him before jumping back into the car with Green and driving off, police say.

As they were leaving, Williams started shooting into the couple’s car and hit the Georgia woman, who later died, police say.

Williams left the scene in a dark-colored Dodge Charger, they say. Authorities believe he may be from Phenix, Alabama, but could be in the Columbus area.

Prior to the shooting, Columbus police posted Williams’ mugshot to their Facebook and identified him as a suspect in business burglaries in Columbus and Alabama — and he responded with his phone number.

“These folks act like I’m running or sum!!! … Ain’t nobody running from y’all,” he said, adding that he hadn’t been told about the case.

But police had told him about the case, according to the department’s response that asked him to surrender if he wasn’t avoiding authorities.

The boyfriend, Finley, was arrested on a robbery charge and jailed. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
