An Alabama woman was charged with capital murder Friday in the death of her younger brother.

Michelle Renee Scroggins, 30, was arrested in the gunshot killing of Michael Archibald, 26, according to authorities in Tuscaloosa County.

News outlets reported that the two got into an altercation in Northport, and the woman allegedly went outside, retrieved a weapon from a car and started shooting at both her brother and his wife.

The woman wasn’t injured, but Archibald died later at a hospital.

Scroggins, who was jailed with bail set at $210,000, also was charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting at her sister-in-law.

Court records were not immediately available to show whether Scroggins had an attorney.
