An Alabama teen has been charged after he threw a single punch earlier this month that sent another teenager to the hospital where he’s been for weeks.

Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin reported the incident happened on Oct. 11, after a group of teens gathered after a Holtville High School football game.

Video circulated after the incident shows a person identified as Wyatt George, 18, punching Dawson Baker in the face. Baker is seen in the video falling straight back and onto the ground losing consciousness.

Baker remained at UAB Hospital where his mother reported he has been on a ventilator and was to undergo a procedure to put a feeding tube into his stomach.

George was arrested and charged with second-degree assault. George had reportedly graduated last year from Holtville High School. Baker is currently enrolled there.

Reportedly their argument was over a girl.
